ROSHANAK TAGHAVI is a journalist based between Washington, D.C. and the Middle East. She has a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York, a Bachelor of Science from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, and has studied at the University of Paris IV (Sorbonne). A lover of economics, Roshanak has published academic research essays on Persian Gulf economies in The British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies and the premier Italian economic journal Banca Nazionale del Lavoro Quarterly Review. Her favorite poets are Pablo Neruda and Forough Farrokhzad.
